8th entry

on peaks way to summit he finds out that Sun-jo's dad died saving Peak's dad's life. This gives peak a whole new respect for sun-joe. As peak and his team arive to abc camp they find out that the Chinese are looking for him and Sun-jo. They have to climb faster to distance themselves from the Chinese, but doing so could kill them. As the team reaches 5th camp Zopa becomes verry ill and almost dies he tells them to go on while he waits at camp. The team now needs to wear oxygen masks in order to survive. As they reach 6th camp they all are getting exhausted, but Peak wants to push on. When they reach the second step to the summit peak nearly falls off a rope and dies, but he uses all of his strength and the help of Zopas brother to pull himself over the cliff. 10 feet away from the summit Sun-jo says he can't make it but Peak won't let him quit, and helps him to the summit. However Peak never gets to the summit because, he wants Sun-jo to be the youngest person to climb Everest so that he will have enough money for him and his sisters to go to school, and because what Sun-jo's father did for his dad. Sun-jo thanks him puts Peak's yellow flag with a blue mountain on the prayer pole and crosses over to Nepal, where he will be free. Peak video tapes it for evidence and eventually goes home to New York, just in time for his and his sisters birthday. This was a very good book and I would recommend anyone who likes adventure books to read this one.

7th entry

At base camp Peak's dad calls a meeting with everyone. They plan out when they will attempt to summit Everest, and who will be on team a, b, and team c. Sun-joe is not involved in the plans untill he reveals that Zopa is his grandpa. Zopa then explains that he had already set up a team for Sun-joe to become the youngest free Tibeten boy to summit Everest. However if the Chinese gaurds find out that Sun-joe was born in Nepal and brought to Tibet illegal

6th entry

Peak, Zopa, Holly, Sun-joe, and the documentry crew made it up to abc camp and back down to base camp safely. On the way up peak stood up for the porters (the men who go up before them to leave supplies) when one of the crew members talked badly about them. He told him without them they would not be able to make it to the summit,  and that they are just as important as the climber. The next day the crew wanted to film him saying that, but Peak was unable to because his throat was so sore. The doctor at abc camp put him on antibiotics and he soon started to feel better. At abc camp Sun-joe got sick and started throwing up so Zopa gave him a lot of water to prevent dehydration. Holly was in the worst shape climbing up to abc camp but she became the underdog of the group and made it down to base camp before everyone else. The only thing I can relate to is running the mile, because I get so tired after doing it I have no energy the rest of the day.

5th entry

A huge snow storm hit base camp and abc camp where peak's dad climbed to with his clients. One of his clients got hape (altitude sikness) really bad and almost died. peak and Sun-joe had to find them and help them get back to base camp in the blizzard. Peak now has to prepare for his accent to abc camp with his dads friend zopa and a reporter from the New York Times (Holly) even though he is not ready.

4th entry

Peak finaly made it to base camp and learns that his dad hired a team to document Peak's climb. This will help his climbing busines get a lot of publicity and help to pay off peak's debt. Peak goes around camp evesdroping and learns that someone died the other night while going to use the bathroom. This has peak questioning his abilities to climb.

3rd entry

Peak has been training and a little bit of competing with a kid his age Sun-jo. Sun-jo is also going to hike with peak and his dad up to base camp, and maby further. Sun-jo has been training with peak and peak has come to find that Sun-jo is better than he is. This only makes peak try harder. Peak has got to know a little bit about Sun-jo's family and the history of Tibet. Sun-jo's father died in a terrible accident while rescuing stranded climbers on the K2 mountain, but he didn't really know him that well. Like peak Sun-jo has 2 sisters, while talking about them peak started missing his own sisters. I can relate to that because I don't get to see my sisters that much since I moved in with my aunt.http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_K2_disaster

2nd entry

Peak has finally arrived in Thailand with his dad. Although his dad was on the phone the entire time, he was setting up a suprise for Peak. He is going to take him to mt. Everest to become the youngest person to summit Everest. Peak is both excited and nervous, they are leaving the next day. I can't imagine how peak feels. He just got put on 3 months of probation, a $150,000 fine, he just flew all the way to Thailand,  and now he is on his way to climb mt. Everest. I don't think I have ever been that bussy in my life.
